Hey there 👋,
Thanks for reading another BuildFaster newsletter! Like always, if you have any requests, feedback, or just want to say "hi", send me an email at brayden45.dev@gmail.com. I'd be happy to chat.
Quite a neat portfolio theme! 😎
This past week I’ve been working on a new HTML theme for buildfaster.co. One for portfolios/personal websites.
Yes I know, the other portfolio themes I sell weren’t a huge success, but this one is different. 🤩
Presenting… the “StarGaze” theme

Need to give your personal website a fresh and clean look? Try out the StarGaze theme! It is luxurious, yet simple. It grabs your attention, yet is still minimal.
I want to give you a discount code that works for the next 3 days. Just use the promo code “weekend
” or this link: https://gumroad.com/l/sKiZn/weekend
Have a friend who needs a personal website to show off their design, work, or skills? Feel free to give them that link too!
Thanks for spreading the word!
Why I started BuildFaster 🚩

I think it’s about time I tell you my story about how/why I created buildfaster.co.
It was a sunny afternoon in March when I was on my laptop practicing some of my web development skills. I got a message from my friend Josh telling me that he was selling his HTML theme on loveyourlanding.com. I checked it out and I thought it was pretty cool. More than that, I never realized that you could make money from selling website templates. I saw some themes being sold online every once-in-a-while but never had the idea of creating my own.
So immediately I started ideating, designing, and coding my first theme I would sell. What I was working on was soon to become the Lightning Blue theme ⬇

I was pleased with what I had created and decided to get some feedback from other developers. For this, I chose IndieHackers. The IndieHackers community always gives great feedback and growth tips which is why I 💖 it so much.
After I got some design/UI feedback, I worked on a few more that I would plan to sell.
That was great, but I forgot about one thing. The name of my business.
I was so caught up with coding the themes and getting feedback that I forgot to start working on the branding. 🤭
Over the next couple weeks I asked the IndieHackers community what I should name my business. I told them that I sell easy-to-setup and beautiful HTML themes. I wanted my name to fit that.
I got great suggestions and finally fixed on one: BuildFaster 🥳

After this, I worked on the website and after many revisions, BuildFaster.co launched! 🚀
At the time of writing this, it’s been two months since I’ve launched and a lot has happened since then. I’ve reached $200+ NET sales and am close to reaching my goal of $150/mo in sales.
But that was the past and what’s coming is the future. I’m trying everyday to improve BuildFaster’s user-friendliness and it’s conversions.
If you would like to help me along this journey, share buildfaster.co with your friends and subscribe to this newsletter if you haven’t yet! 😄
